I've lived in Haymarket my entire life. It's a great place to raise a family, however the area is rapidly changing. For example, 10 years ago, it took my parents 30 minutes to drive to the next town to go to the grocery store. Now, we have five grocery stores within a five mile radius. It's growing quickly, which means schools are being built frequently, there's an influx of traffic, and sometimes the school capacities overflow while new ones are being built. Haymarket is struggling to accommodate the rapid population growth. However, it is slowly but surely catching up. I attended public schools in Haymarket (Prince William County) and all of them were great. There a lot of opportunities for extracurricular activities whether a child is in Pre-K or in high school, too. Haymarket, overall is a great area to be, but it is subject to rapid growth.

Haymarket is a very beautiful area to settle down in for jobs that are located in D.C. with plenty of houses and apartments being built almost everyday. Having children in grades below high school and placing them in the many elementary and middle schools located here are among the top in Virginia. There are more children here than teenagers in high school. Diversity varies in where you live, considering that certain neighborhood cost more than others. Haymarket is a place to raise your children; however, children in military families moving around might not have the greatest experience considering that since many teenagers have cliques. Haymarket is a very small area, so children that grew up here tend to have their own groups, making it difficult for newcomers to be able to make new friends. Other than that one downfall, Haymarket is a safe environment and truly a wonderful place to settle.
Pretty peaceful area with nice people around as well. Great food/restaurants around the area, accessible to gas stations, excellent schools, and parks are clean and big!
