Although to many it would be considered a small city, Hawaiian Gardens is a lively community that feels larger than it actually is. There are several shopping centers with a variety of food and clothing options. There are two parks that are well kept and a community pool open to the public. I've lived here for three years now and have no plans of moving in the future.

I grew up on a great street, full of kids my age that became life long friends. But not all of the city is like that. It has its good and its bad. For the most part the city has started to change, new buildings have been put up, the streets have been worked on and landscape has been placed, so in that regard the city seems to be doing well and becoming more improved. The city is extremely small, only one square mile so there is not much that the city itself has to offer. What I would like to see change is food choices, it has mainly fast food places to eat none of which are healthy options. I would like them to put up a whole foods market or a sprouts, somewhere that the community would have the option to make healthier choices. Also, there are many streets in the city that are not as maintained as they should be, I would like to see the city put an ordinance to maintain some of the homes better so that it does not look so run down or have excess trash and debris in the yards.
In the past few years the city of Hawaiian Gardens has increased in their city's curb appeal. Especially through their main street Carson, they added new palm trees, beautiful trees and various plants through out. They also renovated their city's famous Casino which is the main interest to visit here.
