Beautiful suburb of New York City that is located right on the Hudson River with wonderful views! It's not too far from the city, only a 30 minute train ride. Hastings on Hudson is a very historic place, and it can be seen, as some of the home are very old. There is a wonderful tight knit community here that is very welcoming and kind.

Hastings on Hudson is a small river town with appeal for people who enjoy that lifestyle. Over the summer there is nightlife in the town for families, geared towards those with middle school children or younger. For teens, there is plenty of babysitting job opportunities. Hastings is a nice town, very safe and all the locals know each other.
Hastings on Hudson is a beautiful but old town. It is right off the Hudson River with nice views, it is quiet, and it is small. The neighborhood houses a lot of "artsy" people who are music producers, movie producers, artists, and those in the medical field. However, no one drives fancy cars. These very laid-back people drive cars like Subaru's and live modest lives. The schools are blue ribbon and there is only 1% crime in Hastings. What I do not like about Hastings is that it looks a bit dirty sometimes. The sidewalks are not repaired, the store fronts are old, and nothing is upgraded (not even the cell phone service). However, it is very safe and I recommend Hastings to raise families.
