Working in Hastings
I really loved growing up here. There's such a strong emphasis on academics, music, and sports. There truly is a place for everyone, and if you can't find a club or activity you want to be in, it is super easy to create one! Even though it is a town of about 23,000 people, it feels like a town of 6,000 because everyone knows and supports everyone else.
I lived in Hastings all my life, I grew up there but after moving out of Hastings I realized how horrible of a place it is. To start off, I've always had bad experiences with the cops in Hastings (Especially with Hicks), my father and I got pulled over for him not wearing a seat belt (We were just going to ol Reilly's) while the ticket was being written out a person spex past the two cops and no one did anything about it. And then the people who worked for the city. Oh God they would always harass us because there was 6 vehicle in out driveway (It could hold up to 12 cars), they threaten us but never did anything about it. The schools were always a terrible thing, the high school charging 100$ each semester for parking yet never fixed the parking lot to Kennedy elementary having that one principle who didn't care about the well being of the students. The bars and nightlife is a decent thing
Love living here! Being close to the river in the summertime is my favorite thing ever. A great town to ride your bike from place to place, don't forget to stop at the local creamery.. GREAT CHOCOLATE MALTS! Also, if you love history this town has a lot of it. Leduc mansion, historic downtown architecture, and artifacts. Antiques every which way too!
