I love Haslett! It is a very small town with really cold winters and very mild summers. No one is on the roads after 9pm! Its a very quiet town. There isn't too much to do besides outdoor activites. After snow storms, the roads get cleared pretty quickly.
Small, quiet town. Failing business district and the township is difficult to work with so business are not eager to come here. The mall is nearly empty. The township sees senior resident centers as the way to save the city...we have a lot of senior apartment complexes here, but the cost of living makes it hard for fixed income people. One of the highest property tax rates in Michigan and frequently seek additional taxes and assessments on property owners. Lots of homes for sale, but many overpriced. Other than the numerous public parks, not much to do in Haslett.
A quieter area near Michigan State University to live. Lots of nice places for running, variety of roads and trails.
Haslett has been a place that I have grown up and was a great school to attend. It is a very small town where lots of people know each other but still allows for space if that was something that someone did not want to be a part of. The school community was great to grow within because it was not very cliquey within my grade. The staff and teachers were amazing along the way and I knew I could always rely on them.
Haslett for me has offered the best blend of country and city possible. With Michigan State University in my backyard and Lake Lansing, a five-minute car ride away, what's not to love? There is an abundance of parks and trails to enjoy year-round. Additionally, with many local small businesses, it's easy to feel the warm and caring community around.
It is the best place to raise a family in my opinion. It's safe the schools are great and it has many parks including right on lake Lansing where you can swim fish or do just about anything in the water it has many delicious Restaurants and makes you feel safe where ever you take your family it is definitely a small but loving town all around!
It's a relatively quiet suburban area that tilts a little on the poorer side with not much to do. However, close by is Lake Lansing where many people spend a great deal of time in the spring and summer. I would recommend this area if someone is a student at either MSU or LCC for cheaper living than on campus areas.
I love Haslett. Great schools, people are very down to earth, and offers a nice community feel. .........
It is a great, small-town, atmosphere but everyone knows everyone which gets tiresome. The bars are all located within walking distance of eachother and Lake Lansing which is definitely a plus if you are into that scene.
An amazing city to live in! Located just outside of East Lansing it provides all the big city amenities without the big city crowds.
Haslett has an award winning school district, is close to the capital area and the local college campus, and has much to offer both families and working singles or couples. A large centrally located lake provides one of the only and the absolute best boating, swimming, and fishing source in the capital area.
I have had an overall good experience living in Haslett over the past 15 years. I once wrote the governor about a railway that did not have blocking levers near my home and they honored my request and put up the levers making it safer to see trains coming by my house. I would however, like to see the pot holes filled on some of the main roads in Haslett.
Halsett is a rather typical midwestern small town. Friendly neighbors, good schools. Although you may have to go a ways for entertainment. East Lansing is very close though, and has many opportunities for fun and dining.
I love living in Haslett, MI. I have lived here my whole life. I've made a lot of great friends, and have had so many awesome experiences throughout my life. I especially love my neighborhood because we are all very close and feel like family. So many of my teachers have made a positive impact in my life, and I am so appreciative of all they've done for me. This community is very friendly, and I have always felt very safe living here. I also love being so close to Michigan State University and all it has to offer as well. Their isn't a lot of night life in Haslett, but I don't really mind as my family, friends and various school and community events keep me plenty busy. There really is not much I would change about this community!
Haslett is a great place to live. However, there are a lot of empty business fronts. There is excellent access to nature/trails/waterfronts.
I love the town of Haslett. It's not too big but there is a lot of things you can do there. It has a beautiful lake and a rich history.
There are not that many new exciting activities to do in Haslett. However the neighborhoods are very nice.
