Haslett has a great public school system with a dedication to producing well-rounded students and one of the largest (award-winning) choir programs in the state adjusted for student population. Haslett possesses one of the only lakes in the greater Lansing area and is safe and walkable with numerous trails for bikes and pedestrians. The job market is diverse as Michigan State University is next door in East Lansing, the state capital is Lansing, and General Motors maintains a large and robust presence. There are limitless recreational opportunities in the area, with access to sporting events and musical performances, including traveling Broadway show at MSU. Lansing is also home to the Lansing Lugnets, a minor league baseball team.

The school systems are wonderful and one of the highest rated in college preparedness. However, the school district doesn't seem to handle it's students as well as it could as there are many cases of bullying, two of which I know that resulted in 3 restraining orders per case, and two arrests. The issues had many tell-tale signs beforehand, and they were not hidden by students. This happened over the course of several years though, and the school system still does well overall. Schooling was my main concern in the area and it has worked out wonderfully.
I love living in Haslett, MI. I have lived here my whole life. I've made a lot of great friends, and have had so many awesome experiences throughout my life. I especially love my neighborhood because we are all very close and feel like family. So many of my teachers have made a positive impact in my life, and I am so appreciative of all they've done for me. This community is very friendly, and I have always felt very safe living here. I also love being so close to Michigan State University and all it has to offer as well. Their isn't a lot of night life in Haslett, but I don't really mind as my family, friends and various school and community events keep me plenty busy. There really is not much I would change about this community!
