Hasbrouck Heights is a homey suburban town. Everyone is practically neighbors with the other and the town is amazing to raise kids as education is wonderful!
One of the best overall towns in Southern Bergen County, which brings easier access / transit (highway and bus) to NYC. In the center, you’ll find well-manicured and maintained block of mostly early 1900s single-family homes. Along the perimeter, and on the 2 county roads, you’ll find some slightly denser multi family.
Like many small towns in NJ, one of the biggest drawbacks is the (lack of) leadership, which does not have the experience or vision to ensure it thrives. SF homes are being replaced by oversized eyesores, mature shade trees torn out, and the Main Street (Boulevard) is a revolving door of fast Chinese/Italian, Realtors, and Salons.
There’s also a lack of cooperation with neighboring towns and government bodies which has led to the disastrous Wesmont to the west, Teterboro Landing to the east, and lack of access to important amenities like the Williams Ave train station on Route 17.

Quite a nice town to grow up in. I've watched it change and develop over time, and still find myself knowing I will miss it. There are total gems, but any town has aspects that could probably change. Great people too!
