Harwood Heights is a great neighborhood for families. I moved there when I was young, and I can honestly say that it was a great move! There are many great public schools nearby, and they are all within walking distance. It is a very safe neighborhood, with my police patrols, and crossing guards during school hours. There are also summer festivals and fairs that are held by the surrounding schools and businesses. The public library is also an incredible amenity, with may kids programs and clubs. There are many food establishments and retail stores around the area, as it is right on Harlem Ave. Overall, Harwood Heights is wonderful, with beautiful houses, if you can afford to live there.
I love living in Harwood Heights. It’s a connecting city with Norridge, and everyone is one big family. Hardwood heights is pretty small so everyone knows each other. The kids go to Union Ridge for elementary and middle school then Ridgewood high School. There they get to meet kids from Norridge and be exposed to opportunities of new friends and experiences.
The town is growing and growing every year. The education provided to the residents is incredible. All children go to Union Ridge School, PK-8. The curriculum and activities the school provides is amazing. The teachers there do care and help each and every student. The school is involved with all the parents/guardians and it does show a lot of how much they care. There are more restaurants to eat at like Portillo's, Raising Canes, Culver's, China Buffet, iHop, and so much more. There is the HIP Mall nearby which has department stores, restaurants, and so much more. The town has yearly carnivals and picnics for all ages.
