Harwood Heights is a great neighborhood for families. I moved there when I was young, and I can honestly say that it was a great move! There are many great public schools nearby, and they are all within walking distance. It is a very safe neighborhood, with my police patrols, and crossing guards during school hours. There are also summer festivals and fairs that are held by the surrounding schools and businesses. The public library is also an incredible amenity, with may kids programs and clubs. There are many food establishments and retail stores around the area, as it is right on Harlem Ave. Overall, Harwood Heights is wonderful, with beautiful houses, if you can afford to live there.

The town is growing and growing every year. The education provided to the residents is incredible. All children go to Union Ridge School, PK-8. The curriculum and activities the school provides is amazing. The teachers there do care and help each and every student. The school is involved with all the parents/guardians and it does show a lot of how much they care. There are more restaurants to eat at like Portillo's, Raising Canes, Culver's, China Buffet, iHop, and so much more. There is the HIP Mall nearby which has department stores, restaurants, and so much more. The town has yearly carnivals and picnics for all ages.
It's a clean and quite environment and it's great for small families.
Very good location. You get the privileges of suburbs, yet very close to Chicago district and only 30 minutes away from Chicago down town.
It has a lot of restaurants, schools and shopping stores.
It feels safe even at night. Police cars are always around in the street and it is mostly small family residents. It has very good schools and a great library to study at and get your work done. It also has a very nice park that includes swimming pools and many programs for kids and adults. They host a fun festival every summer in the park area.
