Love love love the convenience of everything associated with Hartsdale. Restaurants, activities, commute...it's all here for you and you feel safe walking at all hours of the evening. Love the diversity as well. Love living here.
I enjoy Hartsdale, it is a quaint village that is quiet and good to raise children in. It is a very family-oriented area, and when you're here, you feel at home and safe. Personally, I am more of a city person so I would like it to be more developed in terms of having things at walking distance. However, it is very close to metropolitan cities such as White Plains, where in my opinion it is like a smaller, cleaner version of Manhattan. The night life is a bit boring, as it is a family oriented area, where people often have regular 9 to 5 jobs, so it's not like you can go anywhere in the middle of the night. However, it is urban enough to have some places that are open very late or 24 hours.
I have lived in the city and in Hastings on Hudson and for the last 5 years in Hartsdale. Franlyt, the best place of all. Great and diverse schools, open and engaged community and great housing- and compared to rivertowns, still affordable.
I’ve lived in Hartsdale for 17 years and I could not be happier! I try to shop local as much as possible to support our small businesses. And the best part is that it has so much more potential to be even better!
it's quiet and close to the train station which gives you more job opportunities. it also has many food options
Hartsdale is very calm, quiet, and safe place. You can even walk after midnight or early morning without any fear.
Hartsdale is a very nice area to live in. I feel extremely safe walking the streets if Hartsdale and there are food and shops within walking distance. The only thing that is a negative is the lack of diversity. Also, being that Hartsdale is a very small town the food options are very limited and you tend to get tired of eating the same things over and over again. Also, it can be a bit pricey because you are going to pay for the area you're living in. Other than that, Hartsdale is great. I feel very comfortable coming home from work late at night and walking home from the train, which is also SUPER close.
Hartsdale is a wonderful family friendly town with an excellent commute time to the city! Beautiful parks (Webb Park and playground, Hartsbrook Park, Ridge Road Park) and the Greenburgh Nature Center!
We have convenience at our fingertips with Trader Joe's, excellent restaurants, Pilates, several gyms, kids classes, easy access to the Sprain, Bronx River and 287 and our own train station with good parking options! Schools have the International Baccalaureate certification throughout all grades (they are learning Mandarin in elementary school!). We have an a town pool at Anthony Veteran Park. Police are very responsive and present and the fire department hosts an adorable Memorial Day Parade down East Hartsdale ending with ice cream at the fire house. Best value for the dollar in Westchester with family friendly convenience, active lifestyle community with great food all at an affordable housing price.

I love that Hartsdale doesn't give much of a city feel but not an isolated feel either. Hartsdale is perfect for a night out and a day of relaxation. It's easy to commute with the neighboring train station and frequent buses. I also love Hartsdale's food varieties! I love that I can grab a quick bite at a food chain and then dine at a Vietnamese restaurant a few blocks away.
A lot of variety! Most places are fairly decent.
hard to get a job as a highschooler!
The reaction time of the police is great. Once called for a complaint and help immediately came.
they're great! the owners are always so nice. Good quality of food.
