The area in which I live is a quiet, simple place. It's a beautiful place to live, it just doesn't have all the luxuries of bigger areas. The population size hurts local business to an extent so thriving businesses are not a common attraction. The town/village as a whole is still quite nice, with close communities, and a strong overall pride for the community.
I would not want to raise my children here. It is a town for older people I believe. I enjoyed growing up here and having this experience, but I just do not believe it suits everyone. It takes a person such as my father who enjoy a quiet small town, where it is very spacious and land is very isolated. Although the community here is phenomenal because they are here to support each other.
Crime/Safety really isn't a problem, only the handful of minor problems but nothing major ever really happens. Police presence is slim to none but without a local department it is kind of hard to have someone here at all times. Police though can arrive in a timely manor when necessary.
