Hancock is a very friendly place. The mountains are gorgeous and the area is wonderful for fisherman, and hunters. There are not a lot of jobs in the area however. It is a small town and while it may be gorgeous there are very few business in the area, most of which are mom and pop shops. It is known for hiking and fall foliage. It is a beautiful place to visit.

Close friends, that you stay close too when everyone comes home for the summer. A lot of hiking trails and outdoors things to do in the summer time. Small fairs around and working as a waitress, you meet interesting people who come and visit from other ares of NY, especially from the city. There is no diversity here, which is sad, and not much to do in the winter months.
Hancock is a small town that is very close and family orientated. It is a safe, welcoming place where everybody knows everybody. What I would like to see change in Hancock is more business opportunities and expanding the town. It is very small but has great potential.
