Friendly neighbors, very nice beach/park, a few stores close by for convenience, sidewalks to take a walk through town, and a library with an adjacent park. It's an interesting mix of rural, town, and suburban type of living. It is quieter than the city of Rochester, but definitely has its share of noise- loud pick up trucks, bass blasting out of cars, loud motorcycles, construction trucks, barking dogs. Overall not a bad place to live and raise a family.
Hamlin is more of a country living area. It's quiet and the people are friendly. But if you work closer to the city of Rochester then be prepared for 30+ minutes of driving.
Hamlin does not have its own school district, instead it is split between Kendall, Brockport and Hilton. It is a relatively small town but has a multitude of stores, places to eat and other businesses. Great place to live and not too far from some larger towns.
