I've lived in Ham Lake for almost 18 years and I love the amount of land each home has. It is our own little town and the community is awesome. However, all the home development that has been taking place in the last year has been very disappointing to see. Ham Lake is known for acres of farm land and trees... stop tearing it all down!

I love my neighborhood. The houses have large yards, so there is plenty of room to enjoy some quality time with family members, and there is also significant privacy from neighbors from the trees and forests. The houses also have different designs and architecture, so there is no issue with "cookie-cutter" houses lining the streets. Like the houses, the neighbors are far from "cookie-cutter," coming from all different backgrounds, and all are at different stages in life: some elderly, some young newlyweds; some seasoned parents with teenage children, some new parents with toddlers.
The town of Ham Lake in Minnesota is overall a very safe community. With a population of about sixteen-thousand people, there are not a lot of businesses in Ham Lake, but the surrounding towns keep Ham Lake residents busy. This town definitely has a small town feeling. Many of the homes are on at least an acre of land, but that doesn't keep the residents from getting to know each other. Overall, Ham Lake provides families with easy access to multiple shopping and dining opportunities, without the hustle and bustle of the inner-city.
