Quiet, beautiful mountains and landscape, perfect for kayaking and hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Everyone here is very welcoming and kind.
Hadley is a small farming town but still has good shopping scene compared to other towns near by. The taxes are low and buying local and fresh food is a big plus. The community is pretty tight knit, so if you are new you’ll have to try harder to find friends.
Hadley, Massachusetts is a beautiful farm town located between Northampton and Amherst. I've always loved how close Hadley has been to all the hustle and bustle of Western Massachusetts. It's minutes from Amherst, just across the bridge from Northampton, 30 minutes from Greenfield, and 20 from the Holyoke/Springfield area.
Despite the 'bad rap' Hadley gets for Route 9's industrialism, Hadley is rife with farmland and rolling hills. It was a wonderful place to grow up.
My only complaint for the town would be for the people who 'run' it. It's difficult to describe, but if you don't attend the public schools, you will be excluded from the 'town click'. Our family did not, which made participating in Hadley Cal Ripken very awkward. However, it is easy to avoid.
