I’ve lived in Hacienda Heights for about 12 years and I love it here. I very quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and safe. There is a very mixed diversity of races living here; mostly hispanics and asians though. We’re home to the largest buddhist temple in the western hemisphere, so we tend to have a lot of visitor. There are so many beautiful hiking trails and parks all over. I was part of the public school system for several years, and it was a quality education. Our community is very unified and gets together at our local church or community center for events like concerts or carnivals. Fergie herself grew up here and has been spotted around!
Hacienda Heights is one of the few nonindustrialized cities in LA county, mostly just homes. It comprises mostly of homes and therefore exudes a quiet and comfortable environment with good neighborhoods. Though it does have few local stores and some major stores like Vons, Rite Aid, CVS, and chain restaurants like Taco Bell or Pizza Hut. Its main advantage is being right next to the City of Industry and Puente Hills Mall. Puente Hills Mall is one of the biggest malls around and features AMC theatres with IMAX and Dolby and Macy's.
Hacienda Heights is a great area if you just want to settle down with a family or to retire in. Its relatively peaceful and the city is near many populated cities, so after you do errands at those other cities you can just go back to the peaceful Hacienda Heights. However, if you play to stay only in Hacienda Heights, then you have some issues. There are very limited stores in the area and job opportunities. There is also very little fun activities to do as well. The parks and community center typically run some fun activities, but beyond that you would need to go to another city to be entertained.
