Gurley, AL is the sweetest little town in south. I have grown up there my whole life and have been so blessed by my time there. Gurley is about twenty minutes from Huntsville, AL so it is far enough away from the city to see some nature, but close enough to have everything we need. I love Gurley because of the community. My high school has been in Gurley for about 100 years and it has lots of traditions to go with it. One in particular is the homecoming parade. Adults and kids of all ages line the streets of downtown Gurley and are excited for the big game on Friday nights. This is why I love my neighborhood and have been so blessed to have grown up there.
Gurley is a small and friendly community. We believe helping others. I would like to see more business come to Gurley. It is a good place to live and raise your children.
I have lived in Gurley, Alabama all my life and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. Our town would put you in the mind of Mayberry from the Andy Griffin show. Everyone in our community knows each other and are all ways there in a time of need if ever needed. Our community is a very loving and caring town. This is a town where raising a family would be the best.
Great small town experience. Local people own many of the establishments and businesses. Dining out is a must at ElCoyote and Camry's Kitchen. The existing school building is the first public high school that was built in Madison County. Lovely Victorian homes have been maintained well.
Nice small town, Friendly people and relatively close to the city. The internet on Keel Mountain is absolutely awful but I do nit know about the rest of Gurley.
