Guntersville Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 30 reviews
I grew up here and it has been a wonderful place to make friends and is relatively close to all the major cities surrounding us. When you don't want to have to commute Guntersville has a beautiful lake that is prefect for skiing, fishing, or even just a day out on a boat.
A small-ish lake town. Great for boating, fishing and lots of outdoor activities. A variety of area cultural activities and events; local museum, community theater. Good schools. Real estate is a bit high, as to be expected for a lake/recreational area. Guntersville is about an hour from Huntsville, and a fairly easy 3 hour drive to Atlanta.
In Guntersville, there is a lot of things to do. My all-time favorite thing to do is to go on one of the biggest man-made lakes in Alabama(lake Guntersville). On the lake, I do many things from just swimming and jumping off cliffs to water sports. I am very fond of nitro foiling which is just a wake surfboard with a long pole underneath that makes you feel like you are surfing in the air. There is nothing I would change about the town because our mayor has made the town prosper and excell into one of the best small towns in the country.
