Nice safe area to live in. Excellent schools! Great for raising a family. Downtown is filled with small businesses to support. Family friendly neighborhoods. Affordable for apartment or house living. Its a comfortable city and I have had no issues in the 7 years I have lived in Grove City. Excellent teachers and staff at the schools. Diverse in the number of races, religions, sexual orientation couples. Always something going on downtown.
I have only lived in Grove City for roughly three years. While grove city seems to be the better (more affordable communities) of the suburban areas surrounding Columbus, it still has its issues. If I could choose to live anywhere else, I would. Grove City is south of most waterways, such as the Sciota River. I wouldn't even let my dogs get into this water! The standards of the roadways are subpar, & crime is only escalating throughout all of Ohio.
Only reason its not average is becuase the trend is bad. As if we want to keep true to the Midwest rust belt standard of operation, everything is all about immediate economic return. Sidewalks and bike paths are developed beautifully around New subdivisions then dead end to nothing and never get reestablished. Warehouses take priority over parks. Sometimes it takes longer to get out of the town than it does to get into Columbus due to never updating roads. Very race to the bottom metric and the waves are being felt and the carelessness growing. It will be a wonderful town for upper middle class conservatives to raise a family and not leave the house much with a privacy fence. If you have older kids plan for them to move far or live home, as right now rent is decent but showing signs of exploding.
The best two changes would be better support of the historic district and the wonderful metropark that went in, but those only exist becuase it was infeasible to mow them over to a suburb
