Working in Gresham
I love how family friendly Gresham is but I do feel like we need help with crime, homelessness, and graphity throughout the city. Summertime in Gresham's park's are great and each park has something different to offer... Gresham park's cover it all from fishing to a family movie on a big screen in the park! If we could just clean up the crime, graphity and help the homeless it would be an amazing place!
It's a suburb so there's no nightlife to speak of. I haven't had a chance to check out the clubs in Portland. There's public schools nearby and at least one day care center near me. There's two convenience stores and a grocery store within walking distance. I'm also near a community college with a 4yr satellite university in the same location. My apartment complex is gated and affordable, low cost utilities, dishwasher, and washer/dryer in the unit. You do have to purchase your own A/C unit but my apt had one left by the last tenant and I haven't needed it. We're near a main thoroughfare and a train station, sometimes there's noise from people and the train. My job is a straight shot from where I live and there's bus tops also in walking distance. I wouldn't catch public transportation on the way home at night because there's some transient activity and coyotes.
This is a pretty good town, I have grown up here and so did my parents. The best part about it is Downtown Gresham off on Main street. There are so many restaurants, antique stores, coffee shops, frozen yogurt, karate classes, parks, and so much more! Really a great town if you have the time to come see it!
