Lived there for 7 years now. Lived in Taylors for about 8 years prior. Greer definitely has more to offer than some of the smaller suburban areas but there's not much nightlife. We have a music venue and a nice downtown area. There's plenty to do within an hour drive or less.
Greer is close to the airport and approximately the same distance from both Greenville and Spartanburg which provides plenty of shopping and activity choices.
The area is diverse but still predominantly white. Overall a good experience here, although crime is significantly higher than one would expect in an area like this. There are a lot of bored teenagers here that like to break into cars and vandalise things. The police do take these things seriously, although they can be a little overzealous sometimes.

We have loved how family friendly it is, especially downtown Greer. They always have neat events going on that are safe for the whole family!
I think Greer is a wonderful community. Ever since we have moved here, it has only become better. The town is experiencing substantial growth both in population and economy. The people here are just one of the friendliest ever. Anyone you meet in Greer will be glad to lend a helping hand. Greer is also in a very convenient location, sitting midway between the city of Greenville and the city of Spartanburg. I would not want to be anywhere else!
