Working in Greenwood
I love Greenwood! I feel that our community is extremely safe and welcoming, and we are the perfect distance from downtown Indy. I would love to see more areas like downtown Greenwood that feel homey, with more options for small businesses, parks, or restaurants. Most of our food options in town are fast food, and I would love to see that change. More local events could help Greenwood in feeling more like a community as well!
Greenwood, Indiana is located just south of Indiana’s state capitol, Indianapolis. In the 18 years that I have spent in Greenwood, I have seen it to be a very diverse community. The most popular places in Greenwood are, The Suds and Ms. Curls. The Suds is an old-fashioned restaurant where every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights during the summer, there is a car meet where hundreds of people go to see all of the hotrods while enjoying an old-fashioned shake and a cheeseburger. Ms. Curls is a locally owned outdoor ice cream parlor where hundreds of thousands people go every summer. Any time you go there, the line is wrapped around the relatively small building. Greenwood is a very kid friendly community that has many parks and just recently opened up a new waterpark. My overall opinion of Greenwood is that it is a very welcoming community that anyone would enjoy visiting.
Greenwood is an excellent place to work and visit! They have countless restaurants and various shops to eat at, along with a huge variety of food, not just basic American! (They have Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, etc.) Besides food, they also have plenty of places to shop at. Their main mall includes stores like MAC, Express, Forever21, JC Penney, American Eagle, and lots of boutiques and others! Grocery stores are in very convenient locations, along with gas stations. Houses and roads are all very nice!
