I love the downtown area where it has so many diverse places to explore! I live next to a shopping center a few blocks down which is really convent for taking public transportation. The weekends sometimes gets crowded but that all the more people to meet and socializing. It is a textile city, so hence lots of small clothing shops all around the city. There is also lots of parks to find and enjoy the area surroundings.
I love the federal/county parks that are available! The trails are well maintained. Although not a huge selection, there are some really great food spots in this town. Greensboro also offers opportunities for trivia and live music. The winter/Christmas festival downtown in December was amazing!
Overall, I think it’s a good-sized city—just about everything I’ve ever wanted from a city is there, such as parks, bookstores, and restaurants, without being so large and sprawling that it feels overwhelming. The college campuses here are also enjoyable places to walk around. However, the main negative that comes to mind is the reckless driving. During my time here, I’ve witnessed several car accidents, which often end up damaging several parked vehicles, or damaging telephone poles to the point of needing them replaced. Seemingly, half of the drivers on the road have little or no regard for the posted speed limits, often going 10, 15, or 20 miles per hour over, yet I very rarely see anyone get pulled over for it. Loud vehicles also run rampant, with modifications that create unnecessary noise pollution, and levels that may be above safe hearing levels.
