I loved living in such a small town atmosphere. I truly felt like I was apart of the wonderful community that was developing there. The education that I received from my high school was outstanding considering how small of a school it was. I feel that it was because of that small town feel that helped aid in my education. The teachers and staff truly cared about me and I wasn't just a face in the sea of students. On top of having a great education system and social atmosphere, Greenport was absolutely gorgeous with its plethora of beaches and historic homes and shops.
I have lived in Greenport my entire life. I went to public school here, I love the teachers, the education I had received. It is a very small town, the distance from the major shopping plazas and this town is approx. 30 miles or more. The community really comes together and supports everyone able and willing.
During the day I feel completely safe yet at night when I am walking gnome from work I feel slightly scared. A different crowd comes out at night and there isn't the best lighting on most of the side streets. Even so, I can always be sure that a cop will be driving by, and all the cops truly care about the community and it's citizens.
