Greene is a small town in Maine. It offers a quiet area to raise children. There is little crime that I have seen in my 28 years of living here. It is a great place for those who love nature, there are many acres of woodland along with a beautiful view of Sabattus Pond. The IGA that recently became affiliated with Hannaford, provides a close option for doing groceries or quickly grabbing the ingredient that you forgot about. It is also a very clean neighborhood.
Living in Greene is incredible. It's a pretty small town, but being 45 minutes within Portland and the coast, with Lewiston/Auburn and Turner being so close is very convenient. The school system is very good here, and it's been a great place to grow up.
Greene is situated outside of the second biggest city in the state, and it is only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Lewiston. The town of Greene may not have a lot of ammenities itself, but by being so close to a major city in Maine, there is really no issue. It's a small and quiet town that is perfect for someone who wants a rural feel while having urban life only 10 minutes away.
