Green Tree is a very safe, welcoming environment with friendly people. It is a very peaceful neighborhood with many job opportunities and places to explore. Our stores are all in walking distance, and every street is well maintained. In the eighteen years I have lived here, I have never felt unsafe or at risk. My borough has given me the opportunity to gain experience working with kids through the Summer Recreation program and learn about possible career paths for myself, which not many other boroughs offer. The people who live here genuinely care about each other, and we all do our best to make our home the best it can be. Green Tree has given me an ideal childhood, with a great education and countless fun activities, and I have met some of my best friends here. I wouldn't wish to live anywhere else.

Just okay. It's generally safe and the houses can be very nice. I'd feel more favorably toward the borough if not for two things: 1. The public schools are horrible. 2. A lot of the people around here are pretentious without reason to be. I have some lovely neighbors, but I also have a lot of REALLY rude neighbors, a problem I've never had anywhere else. It's ridiculous. As for the schools, bullying is rampant and the education is mediocre. If the students were nicer then it wouldn't be quite so bad. I recommend avoiding Green Tree, to be honest.
It is a Borough with great policeman and great public employees. They have some great parks and activities that are well-received. The bus service to town is good and depending on traffic you're either 5 minutes or 50 minutes from town. Being located on the west side of the Fort Pitt tunnels is a big plus.
