Living in Graniteville has been an experience that has proved to be worthwhile. In my eight years of living here the community has changed drastically, with the implementation of stores, fast-food restaurants and new homes. The community as a whole has grown, the schools near here have reached capacity with the flood of new students filling these homes. The diversity of the area is beginning to changed as more minorities begin to fill the area. The small town is peaceful and tight knit and many locals know each other and others throughout Aiken county.
This is my second year, had no issues in this city the school system is decent it could be more organized and managed better educationally. The town could use more play areas for kids to play out due to the increase of technology kids stay indoors and fewer kids come outside. This town could also use more restaurants in the area with pools and more community involvement buildings to make people come out and be more active.
Graniteville may not have many attractions, but it's close to the interstate, so you can get anywhere. There is a growing residential area, and you can drive through downtown to see the historic cotton-mill town. It lies right between the growing cities of North Augusta and Aiken, and even boasts its own elementary and soon-to-be middle schools. The atmosphere is friendly and Southern, and you never run out of people to love on you.
