This is a bedroom community for the upper middle class in the South Bend area. Low crime, excellent schools. Drive outside Granger for shopping and work. Developments keep the poor people out and property values high by not allowing renting of property. Many people bring their kids to my development to trick-or-treat because they see it as safer than their own neighborhoods. I see that as a compliment and welcome them!

I’ve grown up in Granger and will soon depart, looking back on my years here I am thankful for the safety and peaceful nature of this small town however I feel as though this area lacks anything interesting about it. There’s not much to do outside of shopping and most events take place in surrounding cities. The lack of culture is astounding. However all in all I can’t say I hated it, it can become dreary if you don’t travel but it’s a good place to come home to after a trip.
Granger is one of the richer towns in St. Joseph County. Where I live, it´s always pretty busy and full of character. With a population of 30,465 and businesses around every corner, there are many opportunities to get involved and make a living. Living in Granger is a pretty safe environment. In my neighborhood, there are around 3 cops living nearby and ready to help when needed. Overall, Granger is a beautiful and safe area to live in.
