Grand Ridge Reviews
We have mom and pop businesses in Grand Ridge, IL. We have a local bank that knows everyone by name and is very friendly but the hours are meant for farmers. We have 1 beauty salon that has one stylist and is very small. The stylist is a down home person that caters to your schedule. If you need a style or cut on her day off she will come in to please you. She knows everyone's family and asks how everyone in your family is doing and will even pick you up at home or do your hair in your house. The village has one antique shop that has just about anything you want and is locally owned. We have one insurance agent that caters to farmers and the village residents. The village has 2 grain elevator companies that stays open late and weekends to cater to the farmers. The only chain business we have is the gas station which is a BP station that is owned by a group. The gas station has employees that don't stay very long and the employee turnover is very high. The village I live in is Grand Ridge, IL. The village has a volunteer fire department and EMS department, it also has a grade school for K - 8th grades.
It is a small community with a big heart. I always feel safe walking around town by myself or with my family.
This area offers many state parks and recreation areas for a nature person. Boating on the 2 rivers is beautiful. The local schools provide good education.
