Honestly, I've lived here my whole life for 25+ years. It's not a bad place at all. Pretty quiet and a good place for families and elderly people. Very supportive of local business too which is great! only complaints are 1)nothing stays open late and sometimes it's a little too quiet. 2)very clicky people sometimes. Not everyone but chances are someone will always know someone's business or someone's families business, can also be very hush hush which imo is childish.
I have lived on Grand Island my entire life. It is a very close knit community, and perfect for families. It is a very run of the mill suburban neighborhood.
Grand Island is a small town with not many things to do aside from going to a restaurant/bar or bowling. Even though it is small there is something very unique about the town and the people that live here. You will get to know many personable people that really care about you and you see familiar faces almost everywhere you go. Grand Island is really an island and you must drive across one of the two bridges to leave however it is not secluded or hidden and can be busy at times without the downside of having any traffic. The public schools are great and kids especially in the middle and high schools really get to know people that they never would have known otherwise (beacuse there’s only one middle and high school on the island). Overall a very nice place to live with some beautiful homes.
