Grand Haven is the ideal place to raise a family. World class beaches and year round activities that highlight all four seasons. Good restaurants and places to shop downtown. Schools are top notch and the people are great. Grand Haven is one of the few places where you can surf and ski within a mile. All in all if you love the outdoors Grand Haven is a great place to live!

Grand Haven is an amazing place to grow up. The beach is close by and the downtown area is picturesque. There is a local ski hill that is great for learning how to ski or for spending snow days in the winter and the annual coast guard festival in the summer. The people are extremely friendly and helpful and the public school system is great. The area is really safe and has very little crime. There are not many things to do at night though during the winter except go to the movies, but other than that Grand Haven is a great place to live and raise a family.

Grand Haven is such a great area to live! The beautiful beach, kind tourists, and hiking areas make up this city. I have lived here my whole life, and I don't see myself anywhere else. Nothing is better than having the four seasons, and a safe community. Smore's and the beach in the Summer, Snowboarding/Skiing in the Winter, flowers lining every shop in the Spring, and bonfires with family in the Fall. Grand Haven has the best school systems with memorable teachers and students that never stop wanting to learn. I believe everyone should either live here or visit some day because you won't regret it!

I was born in Grand Haven and would love to stay here as long as I can. My family lives here and we are deeply rooted in the community. We have attended Grand Haven Public schools since we started school and one of my uncles is a Principal in this fantastic school system. Grand Haven, although a small town, entertains over a million people every summer at the Coast Guard Festival and the small campground located on the beaches of Lake Michigan, has a waiting list of over a year. This tourism adds to the financial success of this community. Our breakwalls and waters edge are able to be maintained and kept beautiful from much of the tourism every year.

Grand Haven is obviously getting busier and busier like most small towns do but I know the Administration and leaders are working hard at preserving that small town feel and atmosphere. I see the same old buildings and beautiful flower beds, lamp posts and cobblestone walkways in the future for many years to come. I also see more development and chain businesses moving in to our community- I see the people of this area welcoming new business and understanding that growth is jobs and a sense of security for the next generation.

I have been to many places in my short life and I am certain that I am in the best place!

The sense of security and safety is great, nothing really happens in the area crime wise.

This location is great for raising a family for multiple reasons: low crime rate, friendly people, active community, and awesome education. There is always something going on in town or near you. I would live here again if I did it all over, yes it may be a small town but it's lovely and Lake Michigan is right around the corner!
