I like Goshen because of the interactive and updated Downtown. The city does a great job at keeping the downtown alive and running. There are plenty of fun and interesting shops welcoming newage lifestyles and urban vibes. There is a vinyl store downtown that offers live music which is a great hangout area and fun place to go with friends. They also offer a fun First Fridays where people come together every first friday of the month and eat food, play games, and have live entertainment. However, there are things I'd like to see change. A more enforced recycling program, solar energy usage, and environmental awareness programs would help this young community bring good habits to everyone and spread universal affects to fight global warming.

I grew up in Goshen and since then I've moved around a lot. Its a great place to grow up because nothing is too far from where you are, so commuting and getting place to place is not a problem. Hugely diverse since it is a there is a Liberal Arts college in Goshen, (Goshen College).
Its located in Elkhart County, RV capital of the world. It employs so much of the people in the town and the surrounding areas. Its a growing community, its still not a city by any means, but the community aspect of Goshen gives the town and the people in it a sense of safety and care.
I moved to Goshen when I was 13, and quickly noticed it is a heavily Latino populated community. Especially with everything occurring in our politics currently, I admire the determination of our community to not only embrace, but continue to grow in diversity. Overall, this has helped me become an open-minded student.
Being the band student that I am, I am defensive about appreciation of the arts. In Goshen, while there is an effort, there is a clear preference over sports. As both a musician and athlete I'm aware of both perspectives and it's caused a tension that even students are aware of.
