We recently moved to good hope from the suburbs of Gwinnett county. We absolutely made the right decision moving to good hope. It's a small country town where everybody and I mean everybody is so welcoming and makes you feel like you've lived here your entire life. Shopping is about 20-25 minutes away. That's Monroe, Bethlehem, loganville and Athens. It's so quiet and peaceful. I couldn't tell you about the public schools because our kids go to private school but I know from talking with local people that the schools are fine. Hardly any traffic and people are so considerate. They wave anytime you let them into the lane or let them out. Im being selfish here but I almost don't want to post this because I don't want it to get congested. It's such a breath of fresh air and this is a city guy talking here. I never thought I would love the country but it's grown on me, big-time!!!!
Good Hope is a great place to live, it is quiet and beautiful. If you enjoy seeing the stars and listening to the animals Good Hope is the place to be. You will see tractors driving down the road and kids playing in big yards. The town has a small gas station in town with a blinking red light. The people are friendly and so welcoming. We have lived in Good Hope for 2 years and hope that we can stay till the kids get out of school. They love their school and their friends. The sports are also really good we have had no issues with finding the kids a place to play softball or soccer. we are located about 20 min from Watkinsville and 15 to down town Monroe. Down town Monroe is so cute they have a couple cute boutiques, antique shops and a great place to eat ice cream. They have so many things going on in town and Saturday mornings in the summer they have a farmers market with the best home grown vegetables. They have crafts and all kinds of stuff.
Living in Good Hope has been a great experience for me. I live on 6.75 acres with my family and 5 pets. I have enjoyed the relaxed, quiet, calm atmosphere. We recently built a Dollar General store, which is the first store in Good Hope besides Good Hope General Store.
THe only downside about Good Hope is that it is so far away from everything- my school, my dance team, my theater group, etc.
