Goleta is amazing! It's a nice place to stay just 15 minutes away from the beautiful downtown Santa Barbara. Though the town is pretty residential and only has one or two large shopping areas, each place proves to have a warm inviting feeling. Everyone is friendly and trucking along with life too. The closer one gets to Isla Vista, however, the more there tends to be homeless people, but it is nothing to be worried about. Everyone tends to mind their own business and let people be.

Lived in Goleta with some friends while attending Santa Barbara Community College for the summer. It has such a small town feel even though it is minutes from Santa Barbara County and its amzing nightlife. The beach is literally a walk away! You wake up and can smell the ocean. A pretty healthy community so you will rarely find fast food establishments. Has lots of cute authentic thrift stores. Loved going to the University of California Santa Barbara library and checking out the magnificent view that overlooks the campus. Very laid back vibe with lots of activities to do throughout the entire day. People offer help without hesitation and the town is just a vacation.
There is a diverse range of options for dining in Goleta, with something to satisfy everyone. The schools are nurturing and prepare their students for a successful future, including the University of California at Santa Barbara located in Goleta. Residents have the opportunity to hike in the beautiful mountains, or swim in the refreshing ocean. The town is not very active at night in some areas, but it is about a 15 minute drive to the lively downtown Santa Barbara.
