Recently moved to Goldsboro from Southern California. Many have asked me here WHY! I am 57 and it is a slower pace and most of the resources I need Medical, Shopping, Marketing and QUIET- are here. I live on the edge of town so I like the quiet. The jet noise from the AFB is not too over the top. On occasion it can be a busy day in that regard and a bit noisy but most of the time it is very tolerable. I can see why younger folks would be bored here as there are minimal places for night outings such as sports bars and clubs. Since most of that is out of my system so to speak, I find it a perfect getaway for those looking for somewhat quieter times. I am close enough to surrounding busier towns, so my attitude is- if I need more hustle bustle I can drive there in a short time. I like the town and so far the folks here are kind and easy to get along with. I give it a 4 only because I think some people might need more amusements.
I’ve lived in Goldsboro my whole life and i would say that my experience has been good overall. I love and appreciate the community that we have created by supporting one another. An example of this would be the moments when our people would encounter great floods due to the hurricanes that come around. In the area where i live in is always one of the most affected due to the fact that there is a river which overfills from all the rain causing homes and businesses to flood. During these times our community comes together to provide shelter and food to those affected. I can personally say my family had been one of the affected and the people that surrounds us have opened there doors and offered us a place to stay and help with the repair of our homes. We all together slowly started to recover from the damages the flood brought us and till this day i will forever be great full to have such a caring community. In conclusion, Goldsboro has brought an overall experience full of blessings.
Goldsboro overall is a fairly good town. There is some areas that are not as great, but they have their own character. On top of that, many towns have similar problems of less great areas. I love the scenery of some of the areas of Goldsboro and enjoy it when I find new places to see the views. It also gives off small town vibes while still being a fairly medium sized town.
