Golden is a great medium-sized town which is less of a suburb/urban sprawl of Denver, and more it's own town. It has a really nice, little downtown with a river, parks, stores, restaurants. And, it's only a 15 minute drive or so west of Denver. It's a college town, home to the Colorado School of Mines, a highly ranked engineering school. The biggest industry in town is the Coors Brewery (now MillerCoors), and there are several small microbreweries as well. It is surrounded on all sides by the Rocky Mountain foothills and the two Table Mountains, mesas to the east. Opportunities for hiking, mountain and road biking, kayaking abound, right within town. The downside is, because of the surrounding mountains, Golden has little room to expand, and because of its desirability, real estate prices have skyrocketed.
Review Golden
Golden is a suburb of Denver, Colorado and backs the Rocky Mountains. I have grown up in this area from a very young age and I am inspired by the people in my community who are committed to healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness. I am very proud of my town!
I love to live in Golden, CO. So much beauty so close to the mountains, everything is close, but not too close so we still have the quaint town feel!
So much to do and so many amazing places to experience whether it be food, outdoor activities or Tastings for wine and liquor. Love it!
