Very poor town. The school is awful and not enough money to hire teachers. Almost all the teachers do not know how to teach. They are rude and don't care about their students. No art programs but plenty of money is poured into a football program that has barely scored in years. One of the most hillbilly towns in the area. Drugs run through the school system as well as an extreme bias for bad teachers. All the school administrators drink together on the weekends which allows for a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" attitude. There are teachers who blackmail students in order to cover up the fact that they let their kids cheat on tests. The most recent graduating class was about forty people. Absolutely the worst gossip, everyone knows everyone which results in people knowing everything you have and haven't done. Do not move here unless you are looking for a place that loves high school football, meth, and unemployment!
I love the tight-knit community. Everybody knows everybody and it's a very welcoming environment. It is a very family friendly town and is appropriate for all age groups. I am currently enrolled in the Gobles High School program, and the students and community that make up this city are very beautiful. The citizens here are all connected in some way and support each other as much as they can so that they can help keep our community together and working well. Sports is a major way in which the community is brought together, many come out to support the Tigers as they take on a new opponent in each sport. It is very rewarding knowing that you can play to bring your community together. Gobles is really a beautiful place and I would recommend many people to this small town.
Gobles is the biggest little city in Michigan! It has the beautiful KalHaven trail that intersects the town. Walking and biking during spring, summer and fall make a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Snowmobiling on the trail during the winter months is an added bonus.
