We have been living in Glenn Heights for close to a year now and love it! It is conveniently close to I 35 and major cities, but still offers that country feeling, peaceful and with beautiful landscapes. Better schools located in the southern side (something to consider). Several new developments on UHL and Ovilla Rds.
I like how the city isn't too big but I don't like that it's at least 15-20 minutes away from stores.
My neighborhood is usually quiet. It is growing, however, and cars now race the streets from time to time. Within the next two years, it looks like the area will be four times as populated as it is now. There is a great private school for our daughter. Other than that, there isn't much to do around here.
I like how everyone is freindly and conciderate of others. All neighbors are very respectgul and make you feel very safe.
I have been living in Glenn Heights for 5 years, and from what i've experience over those years is that it is a very peaceful area to live in. During the five years and continuing on, I've learned that i am the only third black family living in my neighborhood. It's a very safe environment, children play outside everyday, and everyone is very friendly with each other and help each other out if their in need.
It is a safe community and very quiet. There hasn't been any type of crime going on in the community.
All though it is a small town it is a very friendly community. We have multiple family events and amazing firework shows for the 4th of July and New years.
It is a pretty small town that is not very far from the big city. The town has its own park complete with two outside basketball courts and baseball fields. The neighborhood is pretty friendly and there are always people out walking.
I like that Glenn Heights is close to major cities but would like to see more in the way of stores, eateries, etc. By having these residents would not have to go into Red Oak to shop.
Glenn Heights is a great Environment and there's numerous food places to eat for family and friends. The Wal Mart is also a great place to receive your groceries
I like how it's not located in a city, the crime rates are low. My house is also located by the police station, so you have the feeling of security. Police cars often patrol around, as well. All in all, Glenn Heights is a pretty safe town and very family friendly.
Its a quiet little city. I enjoy living in an area with little activity. There are several cities that border Glenn Heights. but its actually only one street long, Bear Creek. However, because it's so small, there isn't really much to do in the town itself and the city does not have a multipurpose center.
There's no "there" in Glenn Heights. Its a city of 13,000 and lacks basic amenities that other places have. You will find yourself heading north to DeSoto/Lancaster, south to Waxahachie, or west to Cedar Hill for shopping. My neighborhood is nice, but the Red Oak schools it feeds into are terrible.
I have lived here for two years now, peaceful city. Pretty good atmosphere for families and college students. It is starting to get more populated, than before when it was pretty secluded.
Glenn Heights has great Schools and is only eighteen miles from Dallas. The community I live in is very diverse and neighbors look out for one another. There are many places to shop for everyday needed items. Several home grown restaurants make this a homey town. On the down side there are a lot of "Mom and Pop" businesses that do not hire many workers. The chain restaurants here do not hire many local workers. Glenn Heights is growing and currently there are many construction and road projects. Taxes have increased over the past few years as property values have gone up considerably. However, if you are looking for city convenience and community life I highly recommend Glenn Heights, Texas.
I like that the community is close and is involve with actives for the kids. They try to make it safer every year and the kids all look at for each other. The police know some of the people and give you warnings at time.
My grandparents have been living in the Glenn Heights area for over 20 years now, so I was always familiar with the area. However, now that I live their, I have had a pretty good experience first hand. It's a great place for those who want to live in a quiet, peaceful, semi-country style life.
