Glendale quickly became my home after my move in 2005. Its a city that thrives on cultural awareness, acceptance, and family values. A place so welcoming you can walk down the street and say hello to a random stranger on any given day. The heart of the city has become the epicenter of vast job opportunities and a place to get out and experience the many authentic, culturally vast flavors our restaurants have to offer. So whether you're looking to have a good time, just passing by or looking to move here, Glendale is a place you will quickly come to love!
Living in Glendale has been alright. There are some very nice people, but the people living here are mostly pretty mean. It's pretty diverse, but Armenians are the majority here. Some of the Armenian teens are fairly rude. Just the other day I was driving and a couple of guys just take their time crossing the street illegally. They think they own the street! Other than that, there are some pretty nice restaurants and stores. The cars here are dangerous, however. There's always people speeding and beating the red light. And similar to the teens thinking they own the street, it's similar to driving. Very often you'd see people taking up the whole street with their hazards on, waiting to pick someone up. I'd like to see the people become more courteous to each other in this city.
Glendale is a beautiful city, boasting large community parks, lots of free community YMCA andYMWA sponsored programs and classes. Additionally, the city offers you the chance to step back in time! The Americana (developed by Caruso Properties), is a lush outdoor shopping and residential area, complete with synchronized fountain displays, Parisian styled architecture, and the best hits of Frank Sinatra, which play throughout the day or night. I have the benefit of living in Glendale's mountainous community, just south of Montrose, which, in my opinion, is the best part of Glendale! It's beautiful, remote (hard to find in LA), and very family friendly!
