Glen Ellyn Reviews

Glen Ellyn is a great place to be! The downtown area is lots of fun especially during the Taste of Glen Ellyn. I would argue this area is one of the best compared to the surrounding suburbs. Downtown has a train station and a recently renovated library. My favorite restaurant around is A-Toda-Madre, which is a sort of Mexican fusion bar complete with a variety of smoothies. Additionally, Glenbard South and Glenbard West are the two public high schools in the area. Both schools often combine for joint musical festivals, giving students the opportunity to make new friends in music. These schools also host a cross- town food drive where students donate canned goods to help those in need. Overall, this area is great for families and the school systems are highly rated.
Moved here from Chicago in our Mid-thirties while still having our Chicago jobs—good commute—just as far as it would have been still living in the city. Less crime, friendly people, good schools, still close to everything.
Glen Ellyn has served me well these past few years with its great education, clean environment, friendly neighborhoods, and security. While, its downtown may be a bit lacking compared to bigger town such as Naperville, it is cute and charming in its own way. It has small thrift/antique stores that is always an adventure to explore. And Glen Ellyn probably provides the most safe and clean parks I have ever seen! Overall, it is a very family friendly town to settle down in! :)
