Gig Harbor is where I've grown up. Here, I've completed my high school education and roamed the streets of Gig Harbor like everyone else. It's a beautiful suburb with many adventures to be had. There's crystal clear water wherever you walk the harbor among other beautiful landscapes. There's people of many different walks of life everywhere you go, but it's mainly the down-to-earth, blue-white collar average joes who work in areas from construction to retail management. Not a whole ton of diversity. Also, the commute from Tacoma to here isn't anything too special. It's just a twenty minute drive across the Narrows Bridge from one city to the other. But there are good people here who sell great produce and other items during the market hours, notably in the summer. And again, there's plenty of adventure to be had here. If you're looking for a good place to settle down and have fun, I'd recommend Gig Harbor, WA, my hometown.
It's a great town! Very friendly people, more on the older side but slowly getting younger. Beautiful downtown with the water nearby. Only a 45 minute drive to downtown Seattle.
Gig Harbor is a very beautiful town with views of nearby Mount Rainer and the cascades. While also being relatively close to many nearby natural wonders including Mount Elinor, the Olympic Mountains and National Forest, the Hood Canal, and the San Juan Islands. Being located on the shores of Puget Sound means that simply owning a boat allows you access to all the major cities along the sound. These cities you can visit by boat include Bellingham, the previously mentioned San Juan Islands, Seattle, Fox Island, Tacoma, and Olympia. Many other, smaller, cities and towns are located along the shoreline as well.
