Gig Harbor Reviews
I am speaking of around the Gig Harbor downtown waterfront to Raft Island. It's a wonderful place full of wonderful people who live here year round. There is plenty of diversity and different income levels here in Gig! The tourists are welcome and everyone enjoys the waterfront restaurants and shops. However, there are always a few negative types that are always in a rush and ruin it for others with their impatient horn blaring or ignoring speed limits. Gig Harbor is a slow pace lifestyle. People walk their dogs, ride bikes, and jog on the roads. People wave to each other and smile here no matter who your are! Conservatives and Liberals live together here. If you are in a hurry, you won't be happy here. People who don't like diversity end up moving. So come and embrace the slow living lifestyle of Gig Harbor and you will enjoy your time here.
An excellent community to retire. We are very close to great boating,(ocean and lakes) winter sports, and beautiful mountains. The winters locally are very mild and the summers are normally in the seventies and lower eighties. For the younger people, we have an excellent school system. It's a great place to live!
The waterfront is absolutely gorgeous in the spring and summer! The downtown bay area has several local shops that are cute and vintage. Several of the restaurants have a waterfront view, and there is kayaking and canoeing available to the public. The schools perform relatively well on the academic skill level. The are several restaurants and shops in Uptown Gig Harbor, too. Most of the shops close at sunset. The community is pretty safe, and there is a low crime rate.
