I have loved my experience with Geneseo. However, with more low-income housing being established, the landscape and population is definitely changing. The schools are getting larger, and the environment feels less safe lately.

Wonderful village for college students and young families. Main Street has nationally recognized historic district, 150 year old library, 19th century houses, a restored vintage movie theatre, the historic bear monument, churches, an art gallery, B&Bs, a variety of interesting shops, and choices of restaurants. Farmers markets and entertainment at the college create a wonderful year-round experience.
Geneseo is your typical small, college town. Main street is about 2 blocks long and right next to the college campus. We recently experienced a triple homicide suicide with some students, which is extremely unusual for Geneseo, but the community came together better than any other place I've lived. The local shops, residents, and students all came together and mourned the tragic deaths, whether or not we knew them personally. The residents are generally very kind and welcoming to the younger students in the area. It is a very residential area, so there are a lot of kids.

Geneseo is pretty small, so when college students return back from the summer, the population doubles in size. Geneseo is a safe town as well considering how unusual crime is here. It is located only 15 minutes from Letchworth State park, home of "The Grand Canyon of the East." Geneseo is also only 30 minutes from the city of Rochester and all its suburbs great for shopping, food, and experiences that Geneseo lacks.
