Working in Genesee
Genesee is the best mountain community close to Denver. HOA dues are super low, especially for what you get: 2 clubhouses, 2 pools, 4 tennis courts, pickleball courts, playgrounds, fitness center, hiking trails, snow removal, slash pickup, on-site management, private patrol, community events and activities. All utilities are underground and we have our own water treatment plant and sewer treatment plant. There are fire hydrants everywhere and a fully-equipped fire station in the middle of the district. The roads are always plowed by the county because they are a school bus route. It is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful and clear nights are filled with stars due to dark-sky efforts.
I looked at this site when we were trying to find a place to live a year ago so I really wanted to write a review for others. This community is a hidden gem. I am amazed by it’s beauty. I take pictures and send them to family but have a hard time catching it on camera. The community is recently turning very family friendly and we have been to many family events (music in the meadow, bluegrass by the pool ect). It has hiking trails throughout and they are all well marked. Two community pools bring the families together and our weekends have become almost too busy. We sit out on our deck at night in the dark ( it is a night sky community which means natural light only) and listen to the elk. The zoned elementary school is also amazing. It is a very tight knit community with an extremely active PTA . You will find many high performing kids here and the academic standard is much higher than what we have experienced living in other parts of the country. Skiing one hour away.
Genesee is a bedrooom community in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains west of Golden, Colorado. The area is picturesque with beautiful expansive views of the Denver or the Continental Divide. Denver Parks maintains a buffalo herd and elk, mule deer, and many other animals traverse the area. A bike/walking path has recently been added, but the entire area has light traffic making it amendable to walkers, runners, and cyclists.
