What I like about living here in Gary is the cost of living is low, living so close to Lake Michigan and the short drive to the night life in Chicago!
I would like to see more retail establishments in town, better school system and a high level of community involvement and investment.

Some parts of Gary are very nice and then others are not. There are lots of crimes and broken down buildings around the lower number streets but progressively gets better as you move out of the heart of the city. However, a lot of the people who come out of Gary have very strong minds and personalities, ready to accomplish most anything.
I have lived in Gary Indiana back in forth and the city is getting better every year. I believe in the Magic City and I really think it can get better. It has gotten better with new business and old businesses reopening and this is really putting a spark back into the city. Gary was very popular at one point in time and I think it can get better than it was before. Miller is a really great part about Gary and we just have to work on the other parts and it will really help.
