Overall the town is not a very bad place. There's a handful of places to shop or get food but you'll find yourself driving a half hour to get to a larger town a lot. It's an equal distance from Akron, Cleveland, & Warren/Youngstown. The James A. Garfield school district is not the worst but they are struggling to keep up their standards, although, I believe it's one of the better public schools in the area. Garrettsville has been putting a lot of focus on bringing their community together over the last few years. in 2018 they began their own farmer's market lead by their amazing coffee shop in town, they have an annual Summerfest, and more businesses have been moving into the area. There have been very few issues with crime in Garrettsville, there's really nothing to worry about. The police in town do their jobs well and there is a full-time officer in the school as well. Garrettsville is good if you're on a budget and want a rural setting without being in the sticks

Garrettsville is a family oriented small town with a good overall atmosphere. Garrettsville is where you go to raise kids, make lifelong friendships, and experience rural living with "more to do." The schools are great, the town has a great selection of locally run businesses to visit, and everyone is very friendly.
I loved growing up in Garrettsville! It's a safe, family-friendly place with parks and lots of pizza places.
