People who stay are not racist the ones who have left the city "it's changed " are. We all need each other. When white flight happens to a city it's sad and does alot of damage.
Sports for kids are available t ball, baseball, soccer, bowling, football, basketball, ice skating ect..
Make use of the library it's top of the line!
The freeway is close. In Garfield we can get just about anywhere in 15-20. That has value. No long commutes means more time with family.
Quiet street friendly neighbors. Excellent schools and teachers who care and teach well.

I grew up in Garfield PreK-12 and moved back after college. I like seeing all of the new local businesses and the shopping centers doing well! It would be nice to have had City View made into something, but there are plenty of shopping centers in neighboring towns. The teachers at the schools are amazing and promote being an individual. If you have kids here, get them involved in extracurriculars! The parks and views of the valley are phenomenal. The RTA system is efficient and I used it every day to get to Cleveland State my senior year of highschool to avoid parking costs. Less than a 30min bus ride and a 10 min drive to downtown! Garfield also has views of the Cleveland skyline in various places! We don't have a ton of money here but we have a lot of love! The bars are great too and have good food!!
My family and I just moved to Garfield Heights, Ohio about 5 years ago. We actually own a house there and so far, our neighborhood had been good to us and a safe place for our son to play in the backyard and to ride his bikes up and down the streets. We love going for family walks at different parks, which are many and all unique to experience. There are also many shops and restaurants close by which we like to walk towards to instead of using our car to travel sometimes.
