Gallipolis Ohio is a great place to raise a family and settle down, It is a small tight knit community where everyone is like a family to you. I love my small little community because I always feel like I can count on people if I need them .
Very political town. The people who are on the board or on the administration at Holzer are inept. They are only there because of their political influence in the town. The president had no experience s healthcare. It is very sad that people progress in their careers based on their familial or political affiliation rather than their ability.
I have lived in Gallipolis all of my life. It is a very small town where everybody knows everybody. I would not change anything about my town, but if I had to, I would request that we had more attractions or more restaurants. There isn't much to do around here besides learning all of the local history. The closest mall and big chains, such as Starbucks, are about an hour away.
It's a place where everybody knows everybody. The people are friendly and there is always something going on in our local park. I have lived here my entire life and it is a very safe and beautiful place to live.
I lived in Gallia for 20 years. 5 living in down town Gallipolis. I have since lived in Florida and Texas. Many folks are blinded by the small town love they have for their hometown. That is fair. But once you take a step back and look with open eyes the town is a terrible place to live and raise a family. The previous law enforcement turned a blind eye to the drug epidemic which now has a stranglehold on the citizens. The economy is failing here. The commissioners have done nothing to bring new business owners to town. We chose to leave the area to raise a family as are most of the educated young people.
Gallipolis is a small, rural Ohio town right on the river. We're small, but the town has a very cosy, rustic feel with lots of local businesses and events.
I like sightseeing there. Seems very historical in nature. Don't think they like visitors too much... and less it is a relative. Still will return to visit often as I like towns with music and arts.
Gallipolis is an average town. The drug epidemic is very sad. The town has a lot of potential being a river town. It is a beautiful town. I wish to see improvement in activities for our youth.
I’ve lived in Gallipolis all of my life. Living right on the river has many great advantages because of the outdoor opportunities it gives you and the beautiful scenery. However, there are not as many activities for young adults and you have to travel quite a ways to find anything exciting to do. Gallipolis has been a great place to be brought up and to live, but there could be more opportunities other places.
First and foremost I love my town. That being said, however, there are many things I don't like about my town or the area I live in. We have a huge drug problem in this area that has gotten out of control. The only upside to the situation is that our newly elected county sheriff is doing what he promised, fighting the drug problem. In his first year in office he has worked with many other agencies on state and local level and accomplished quite a few drug bust and is cracking down on crime. Some things I would like to see change include but not limited to: new younger governing officials for the city and county, more safe recreational opportunities for our children, and most of all more job opportunities. This area needs new businesses to move in and create more jobs.
Gallipolis is a small but aggressive village; despite limited funding they have to work with; the town always looks beautiful. People are friendly and everyone knows each other. The town could benefit greatly by adding new shopping centers and not allowing local individuals in power to determine what is and isn't permitted. Adding a new shopping center and sit down restaurants; would definitely be a great plus.
Gallipolis is a small but beautiful town. Although the town has its fair share of problems, I don't regret living here.
I love living in Gallipolis because the people are so friendly and always willing to help you get back up on your feet. Whether you're having car trouble, directions, or any kind of help they're always willing to help someone out in their time of need.
The community is extremely close knit. It's a very small town where most everyone knows everyone else. There really isn't much to do entertainment wise, but the views are gorgeous.
Everything is close and right there where you need it. It has a small town charm. The college in the area gives you small classrooms which leaves room for interaction with professors as well as other students.
Gallipolis is a cute, historic town. There are many old statues to see within the city park. The town of Gallipolis haS many activities available for recreational time. The town of Gallipolis has the following: Rollerskating, Bowling, Movie Theater, Skate Park, Pool, and the beautiful nature that surrounds it. The town of Gallipolis is located by the Ohio River where many people love to fish or walk onto the docks for a lovely view. Around the holidays, the park is filled with many wonders and gorgeous lights. This is a must-see town. The only downfall is that the town seems to shut down around 9:00pm.
Nice small town in Southeastern Ohio. Major crime is not rampant and the people feel safe. Most people like the laid back lifestyle.
