Gainesville Reviews
Rating 4.25 out of 5 101 reviews
My family and I have lived in Gainesville for just over 12 years now and we are happy to call it home. The schools are top notch, neighbors and community are very friendly, and there is so much to do either in Gainesville or within an hour or so drive. I love the close proximity to historical sites, nature and farmland in one direction, and city and entertainment in the other. I wouldn’t want to raise my family anywhere else (and I grew up living all over the world so I have had a taste of a variety of cultures, landscapes, and opportunities)!
Gainesville is small suburb outside of D.C. , in Northern Virginia. There are several clean and convenient shopping centers located within about 5 minutes of all the neighborhoods in town. There's lots of great places to eat in Gainesville like Nandos Peri-Peri, Osaka, Firebirds, and Uncle Julio's. The entire community makes great use of the close shopping centers by biking and walking to them. The local school systems are also very good. Kids here really receive a top-end education, with great curriculum and even better teaching. School spirit at local Patriot High school really unites the community. Sports seasons attract spectators and are fun ways to spend Friday nights in Gainesville. Overall Gainesville is a super family-friendly and I have had a great time growing up in this wonderful town!
I have lived here for 20 years and have only ever had good experiences in this area. Although nightlife is not the best in this town, it is very family friendly and extremely safe. It has been getting more developed over the years and has some fun activities to do such as going to golfing ranges, painting shops, a movie theatre, karate lessons, and lots of restaurants. Gainesville has some cute towns nearby as well such as Haymarket and Manassas which have a bunch fun activities to do.
