Unincorporated Grayslake is a quiet, charming area with a beautiful lake community that is five minutes away from everything: highway, 2 train lines at Prairie Crossing, innovative entertainment in Byron Colby Barn and James Lumber Performing Arts, creative niche businesses such as MAS (circuskazoo), wonderful restaurants in the up and coming downtown Grayslake as well as those directly within Jesse Oaks, Bakes. Schools can either be a pioneering charter school Prairie Crossing or Woodland Dist 50 starting at Woodland Primary. Homes are very fairly prices and taxes more reasonable.

I have lived in Grayslake, IL my whole life. My parents built our house and moved in a few months before I was born. I have always had friends in the neighborhood and the local schools are good. I went to school in the local school district from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The public high school in our area is good but very big. The average incoming freshman class has around 1,000 kids in it. My parents chose to send me to a private Catholic high school in the area and I love it. The downtown area of Grayslake has really done a lot to improve in the last few years and there are some good restaurants there now to eat.
Usually just a bunch of teens messing around, never anything serious.
