Growing up in a small midwestern town like Fulton has its pros and cons. Fulton almost always has openings in different fields; primarily teaching and at the local nuclear plant! But finding housing can be difficult as the market is small here, but luckily so are the schools. Most public school classes are 30 or fewer students per teacher and even fewer in private schools in the area of which there are several. Parks and churches are located in practically every neighborhood and several grocery stores are in town. Crime is somewhat midlevel and drugs are an issue but most days you feel safe even as a single woman or a mother with kids. The downtown "Brick District" is a historic section of the city with many job options and wonderful small businesses. There are two college campuses that offer great majors and minors in addition to the Winston Churchill Memorial- a museum and church available to the public. All in all its a safe place to raise a family and lead a fulfilling life.
Fulton is a historical, sophisticated little town with two liberal arts universities and a very low unemployment rate. Fulton has a downtown district with cobblestone streets and quaint, eclectic shops and restaurants.
Fulton is the podium for the infamous Iron Curtain Speech by Sir Winston Churchill in 1946, and is also the subject of the book and movie (starring Ronald Reagan) "King's Row"

Definitely need improvement in public transportation. It is hard for those that do not have cars to travel around. Personally, I feel stuck in town.
There is not much entertainment around if you do not have a car. So do not expect too much in downtown or finding something fun to do. It is a boring town.
Generally, it is a really small town. It is hard to find many opportunities in the town. I would suggest moving to bigger cities where there are more opportunities and more things going on in the community.
