Fruitport is really big on community and the support from the residents in the area to the schools and businesses is the foundation of the city. Apart from the social aspect of the city Fruiport is in an incredible location, no more than 15 away from Lake Michigan and the mall but far enough away that you can get some quite. This also allows for home or land owners to have bigger spaces to take part in outdoor activities. Fruitport is close to Downtown Muskegon and only a short drive to Grand Haven. Some thing I would hope to see change in Fruitport is the level of diversity in the area and that the main road would draw in more people and newer more modern businesses. Since it is not too far away from more activity based areas it is nice but I would like to see Fruitport embrace more opportunities.
Fruitport is where the city meets the country. There is a lot of shopping available, while there are also many parks. There are many bodies of water nearby. A bigger library would be excellent.
I've lived in Fruitport Charter Township since birth, and I enjoy it here. Although It's a very small area, there's quite a few stores to visit. I do wish, however, that there were more activities in the area, our only bowling alley is in a pub and is reserved for league players. The small, family owned businesses are very nice and create a family friendly atmosphere. Overall, a great town, but could use a lot more to do here.
